Chris Aylward has been teaching for The Princeton Review since 2001—though it began as a part-time endeavor, Chris found he loved teaching so much that he just couldn’t stop! Dating back to his early days tutoring friends in college, Chris finds it rewarding to see the “aha!” moment as the lightbulb of understanding flares on. Fun fact: He doubly enjoys helping students “stick it to the man” by conquering tests so they can attend their top schools

Chris has contributed to The Princeton Review’s research and development department for many years: He has developed, written, proofed, and edited ACT, SAT, GRE, and GMAT content for The Princeton Review’s course materials, diagnostic tests, web content, and self-help books (notably the Cracking … series). In addition to his tutoring and R&D work, Chris is also a Master Trainer for the GRE and SAT.

Originally from Poughkeepsie, New York, Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from SUNY New Paltz. He loves being active outside and has moved to sunny Florida to live his dreams. Chris is also a musician (guitar and bass) and composes and plays to relax. A furniture and home décor woodworker, he enjoys the art of design and making things with his hands.

Tutor Jimmy Blalock loves to see his students excel. (What would he be if he weren’t a tutor? “Unhappy.”) Described by his students as “an ACT black belt” and “the best in the business,” Jimmy taught his first Princeton Review prep class in 2002 and became a premier tutor in 2006. He focuses on tutoring high school students in person on the ACT, and his students have been accepted to prestigious universities such as Stanford and Notre Dame. Jimmy has contributed to the research and development of The Princeton Review’s test materials for over eight years.

Outside of The Princeton Review, Jimmy is a litigation partner for the insurance defense firm of Davidson & Czuleger, LLP. He competes in marathons and triathlons, and serves as the assistant chapter advisor to the Chapman University chapter of Delta Tau Delta.

A Princeton Review tutor for over 15 years, Shaina Bowie has helped students of all ages gain admission to the prep schools, colleges, and graduate programs of their dreams. While her areas of test prep specialty run the gamut from the SAT to the GMAT, she’s a “master trainer” for the ACT, SSAT/ISEE, LSAT, and MCAT CARS—which means she trains other tutors to prep for those exams. A regular contributor to The Princeton Review’s LSAT Decoded series, Shaina has also been published in The Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics.

In her free time, Shaina is an avid traveler (she’s hit five continents—and counting!) and volunteers as a member of the Junior League of Boston.

As a tutor with The Princeton Review, Kenneth Brenner most enjoys figuring out what makes each student tick—and then creating a study environment that’s instantly conducive to learning. A passionate educator, Kenneth has taught across the age spectrum, from sixth-graders to grad-level students. His students have been accepted to Ivy League colleges and other prestigious universities and programs.

Kenneth has contributed to the development of The Princeton Review’s SAT workbooks, and written content for SAT math practice tests along with The Princeton Review’s online AP history projects.

Kenneth is a Long Island native who enjoys travel, escape rooms, board games, improv comedy, creative writing, and theme parks. Fun fact: If Kenneth weren’t a Princeton Review tutor, he would be a Disney World cast member! He also runs obstacle courses every year.

Jonathan Dworak has been tutoring for The Princeton Review for 17 years. He finds that being able to work one-on-one with students is the best situation to which an educator can aspire—and further, that having a personal connection to so many interesting and engaged students makes the process of working together to master a subject a fulfilling one. Jonathan tutors students of all ages, and his expertise allows him to serve as a “master trainer” of tutors aspiring to teach the SAT, ACT, Early Edge, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT CARS, and GRE.

A Midwest native, Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Columbia University in New York City and has completed postgraduate work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Before leaving academia and beginning work for The Princeton Review, he taught economics at Southern Illinois University.

In his spare time, Jonathan is a great devotee of classical music—opera, in particular—and follows sports, particularly NBA basketball and NFL football. Fun fact: He also enjoys trivia, and met his wife at a trivia night.

A tutor for 12 years, Kyle Flubacker thoroughly enjoys the one-on-one collaboration of discovering a student’s unique blend of personality, learning style, and academic aptitudes—driving lightbulb moments with difficult material. A self-described optimist, he’s eternally convinced that improvement is one fresh insight away.

Kyle is a summa cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. Kyle’s tutoring experience ranges from middle school on through high school, graduate school, and early career, and his students have been accepted to notable universities such as Harvard, The University of Chicago, and Northwestern. He’s a master trainer in the LSAT.

In his downtime, Kyle runs his own photography business—his work has been published in the Chicago Tribune, The Washington Post, and Vox. He is also a varsity baseball coach for his high school alma mater.

Having begun his Princeton Review tutoring career in 1999, Jay Hilsenbeck has contributed steadily to The Princeton Review’s research and development department, and has been published in Math and Science Workout for the ACT, 9 Practice Tests for the SAT, and GRE Manual v.7.

Atlanta-based Jay graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemistry and polymer science, respectively. He is a master trainer for the SAT and ACT and specializes in tutoring the PSAT, SAT, ACT, and MCAT (general chemistry).

Outside of The Princeton Review, Jay serves as a product manager for a chemical manufacturer. He enjoys both college and NFL football and traveling with his wife.

Chris Knuth’s favorite part of tutoring? That he gets to change lives every day! His students have been accepted everywhere—from Georgetown to Northwestern to Duke University—and he’s touted by students as an enjoyable tutor who takes the time to make sure his students understand everything.

Chris is a master trainer for the SAT, GMAT, DAT, and LiveOnline AP, and he has worked in content development for The Princeton Review by editing SAT, ACT, GMAT, and GRE materials and writing new questions. He’s also co-authored two calculus publications for The Princeton Review, and contributed to the high school Unlocked series for algebra I, geometry, and algebra II.

Fun fact: Chris considers himself a “mathematical savant who loves to juggle!” In his spare time, he enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and playing video games. Chris is a certified chef, and if he weren’t a tutor, he’d be a personal chef (or a professional “roller coaster tryer-outer”!)

Lawdon graduated from Colorado College with a bachelor’s degree in English and holds a master’s in secondary education from Webster University. He is a published science fiction author and an avid mountaineer.

Janet Lemmon has been tutoring for over 25 years. She’s an all-around committed educator who not only enjoys helping students achieve their dreams, but believes that an educated society is a better society. A New Jersey native, Janet holds a BA in English literature from Smith College, plus an M. Phil. in Anglo-Irish literature from Trinity College at the University of Dublin in Ireland. Toronto-based tutor Aaron Lindh finds inspiration in the moment when a student “gets it”—when all the hard work pays off and a concept that was formerly impossible becomes easy. He approaches each tutorial by identifying the strengths, abilities, and learning style of each student, and works to develop confidence accordingly. He’s responsible for training and certifying new teachers and tutors, developing new teaching programs, and training new Princeton Review trainers in North America—and abroad.

Aaron’s students have been accepted to Ivy League schools, Stanford, and MIT, among other top-ranking programs and universities. As Content Director of High School Programs, Aaron is responsible for all The Princeton Review’s materials for the SAT, ACT, PSAT, SAT Subject Tests, and AP tests. He is also responsible for the design, creation, and implementation of TPR’s courses and tutoring and establishing training standards in those test types.

Outside of The Princeton Review, Aaron sings classical/operatic works, writes music, runs, and plays board games.

Though her career has included posts in public relations, communications, teaching, and management, the two aspects that define Leah Murnane’s work are a commitment to continued education and a desire to help others. As a tutor, Leah aims to relieve her students’ stress regarding standardized tests and college admissions. By demystifying the process and bringing a little humor to a difficult task, she lightens the load for high schoolers and their families. Leah’s commitment to her work goes far beyond the length of her tutorials, as she often contacts her former students to check in and loves hearing their success stories (such as being accepted to Ivy League and top-tier institutions).

Leah has brought her copyediting expertise to The Princeton Review’s content development team and currently serves as Outreach Manager for The Princeton Review of Long Island. Prior to her work with The Princeton Review, she served as Director of Communications and External Relations for the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University, where she worked with students, faculty, administrators, alumni and parents. Leah holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. She loves the outdoors, Zumba, entertaining, bargain hunting, and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Sang holds a degree in character animation from Queens College. He’s helped The Princeton Review develop PSAT materials, and was Teacher of the Month for the entire northeast region in August 2010.

In his free time, Sang enjoys movies, music, reading, video games, and golf. He’s also a full-time dad and husband, and if he weren’t a tutor, he’d be a graphic novelist.

SInce 2007 when he began to work for The Princeton Review, Tony has been nominated for and received awards from his home office in Louisiana for both tutoring and teaching across all of the tests he tutors. Tony has also worked in Research & Development for The Princeton Review on some occasions, helping with ACT and GRE projects. In his work for TPR, he has taught courses, tutored, and spoken at events held at universities, libraries, high schools, local offices, and online. Students enjoy his honesty, positivity, and creativity; many students come back for tutoring in additional tests Many parents hire him again to tutor their additional children. Indeed, his reputation and his students' results have allowed him to work almost exclusively from referrals since 2017. Since adding online tutoring, he has tutored clients from New York, NY to Portland, OR and everywhere between.

Tony loves helping students prove to themselves that they can do something they didn't think they could do; TPR and his TPR instructor helped him do the same back when he was a TPR student. When he is not working, he likes to exercise, cook new things, and read cool stuff. He most enjoys spending time with his two children and his dog, and he is an active fantasy baseball player when no one is looking.
