Career Experience
Being a writing tutor has been my main career experience since high school. I worked at my university’s writing center as an undergraduate, and helped other students learn the ins and outs of academic writing. I have some classroom teaching experience as part of my graduate work, but I returned to tutoring because I prefer working with students one-on-one. I have been a writing tutor with Tutor.com for over five years now, and it has been a great experience.
I Love Tutoring Because
it gives me the opportunity to work one-on-one with dedicated students who have great ideas and sometimes just need help polishing them up. Like most tutors, I live for the "Aha" moments, but for me, it's about figuring how to frame things in such a way that make the most sense for the student I am working with in the short time that we have together. Writing is a very personal process because it involves sharing your voice with the world, and I appreciate all the students who are willing to share their voices with me and who want to work to make their voices stronger, more efficient, and more effective.
